Budget:
The budget for this project is between $15.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and quality of work.
3. Activities leading up to receiving the Fiverr Brief
As the soft glow of my computer screen illuminated the room, I was deeply engrossed in a complex JavaScript code for an eLearning course I was designing. The rhythmic tapping of my fingers on the keyboard was the only sound breaking the silence of my home office. My focus was unyielding, my mind completely absorbed in the task at hand.
Just then, my phone buzzed, breaking my concentration. I glanced at the screen, an email notification from Fiverr. The subject line read: “Job Post: Video editing of zoom calls for creating course lessons”. I felt a jolt of excitement. This was the kind of challenge I thrived on, the kind of project that made my work as a freelancer so rewarding.
But I couldn’t afford to get distracted. I had a deadline to meet, a course to finish. I silenced my phone, promising myself to check the job post later. I turned my attention back to the code, but the thought of the new project lingered at the back of my mind, adding a spark of anticipation to the otherwise mundane task.
Little did I know, this brief interruption was about to lead me on a new adventure, one that would test my skills and creativity in ways I couldn’t yet imagine.
4. Response Strategy – Approaching the eLearning Instructional Design inquiry efficiently
As I read through the project brief, I couldn’t help but recall a similar project I had worked on not too long ago. It was for a client who wanted to create an engaging eLearning module for their employees. The project required me to use Articulate Storyline 360, a tool I am quite familiar with, to develop an interactive course.
The course was designed to be highly interactive, with a focus on user engagement. One of the key features of this course was the integration of conversational AI. We implemented a pop-up chatbot that was programmed to answer any questions the learner might have throughout the course. This AI-powered chatbot was not only able to provide instant responses but also guide the learners through the course, making the learning experience more personalized and engaging.
Another interesting feature we incorporated was the use of AI to generate quiz questions. The AI was programmed to provide detailed feedback on user responses, allowing the learners to understand their mistakes and learn from them. This feature was highly appreciated by the client as it added an element of adaptability to the course, making it more effective.
We also used AI technology to create a lifelike avatar that guided the learners through the course. This avatar was designed to mimic human expressions and gestures, making the course more relatable and engaging for the learners.
Lastly, we used AI Text-to-Speech (TTS) technology to translate the on-screen text into multiple languages. This feature was particularly useful for the client as they had a diverse workforce, and this feature ensured that the course was accessible to everyone, regardless of their native language.
Looking at the project brief, I can see a lot of similarities between this project and the one I just described. I believe my experience with the previous project, coupled with my skills and expertise as an eLearning Instructional Designer, makes me a strong candidate for this project. I am confident that I can deliver a high-quality, engaging, and effective eLearning module that meets your requirements and exceeds your expectations.
5. My time is valuable and I need to make a quick decision on applying to this job or not.
As I read through this job posting, my initial reaction is a mix of intrigue and caution. The project description is clear and concise, outlining the need for an individual skilled in video editing and eLearning. The task of editing recorded Zoom lessons and repurposing them for social media promotion is something I’ve done numerous times in my career. It’s a task that requires a keen eye for detail, a knack for storytelling, and a deep understanding of the platforms where the content will be shared. I’m confident that my skills and experience align well with these requirements.
However, the budget for this project gives me pause. While the hourly rate of $15.00-$25.00 might be suitable for a beginner in the field, it doesn’t quite match the value I bring to the table. With over a decade of experience in eLearning Instructional Design, I’ve honed my skills and developed a streamlined process for creating engaging, effective content. My portfolio, available on scormit.com, showcases a wide range of projects that demonstrate my ability to deliver high-quality work. My Fiverr profile, https://fiverr.com/an802adam, further attests to my expertise, with over 200 orders completed and a 5-star rating.
Given the complexity of the task and the level of expertise required, I believe a higher budget would be more appropriate. I understand that every project has budget constraints, but it’s also important to consider the value of the work being done. My experience and skills are valuable, and I’m committed to delivering the best possible results for my clients. Therefore, I would be open to negotiating a higher budget that better reflects the value I can bring to this project.
Despite the budget concern, I’m still intrigued by the project. I thrive on challenging tasks, and this project seems to offer just that. I’m particularly drawn to projects that involve Articulate Storyline 360, as it’s a tool I’ve used extensively in my work. I’m also excited about the potential for this to become an ongoing project. Building long-term relationships with clients is something I value highly, and I’m always eager to become a trusted partner in their success.
In conclusion, while the budget is a concern, it’s not a deal-breaker. I’m interested in learning more about this project and discussing how we might be able to work together to achieve the desired results. I believe that with the right negotiation and understanding, this could be a mutually beneficial partnership.
6. Conclusion & Next Steps – How I organize, prepare, and respond to the request.
I approach every Fiverr Brief with a strategy designed to optimize my chances of engagement and ultimately, selection. Here’s precisely how I navigate these waters:
-
Quick Response: I keep a close eye on notifications, knowing that prompt replies to Fiverr Briefs are essential. The adage ‘the early bird gets the worm’ holds true here; being one of the first to express interest can significantly increase the chance of initiating a conversation with the potential client.
-
Active Listening: I prioritize crafting questions that demonstrate a deep understanding of their needs. This approach indicates that I’m not just showcasing my work but am genuinely interested in their objectives and concerns.
-
Personalized Portfolio Sharing: I maintain a mental index of my portfolio projects and know exactly which ones to highlight that resonate with each client’s specific needs. If it’s not in my current repository, I propose scheduling a meeting where I can share other relevant design examples.
-
Prepared for Discussions: I am always prepared for an impromptu meeting. If I cannot accommodate a meeting immediately, I make sure to express my keeness and propose alternative times that show flexibility but also eagerness to engage.
-
Flexible Negotiation: Understanding Fiverr’s fixed rate structure, I prepare myself to discuss and negotiate milestones. This ensures that I can work effectively with the client’s timeline and budget requirements.
-
Budget Transparency: If possible, I ask for the client’s budget upfront. Knowing their constraints allows me to tailor my offerings realistically and discuss openly what can be delivered within their budget and timeframe.
Before I respond to this Fiverr Brief, I reflect on these strategies. They help bring clarity to my thoughts and ensure that my correspondence with the potential client is as effective and precise as can be, paving the way for future collaboration success.
